Those choosing a care home the Norfolk area could soon see changes in the way some services are delivered, after a leading charity announced a shake-up across the county.

The Eastern Daily Press reports that Age UK Norfolk wants to bring advice, support and services under one roof, as well as providing a dedicated local phone number that people can use to access them.

Additionally, the charity is launching a Campaign for Later Life, which is designed to recognise the contributions older people make to their communities.

"All the indications are that people are really keen to support this. The time is right,"

"We have the demographics in Norfolk which make it very clear that we have got a fantastic resource in our elderly population."

Age UK recently criticised government spending cuts after a poll revealed that 60 per cent of people believe the measures have left the country less prepared for an ageing population.
