Residents paying for care at Larchfield care home in Maidenhead enjoyed a successful summer fete, raising £800 for the facility.

The Maidenhead Advertiser reports that the money will be used to help fund improvements to the garden environment meaning that it can be enjoyed by residents and their family throughout the year.

Royal Borough mayor Councillor Asghar Majeed opened the fete on Saturday, July 16th, alongside mayoress Naheed Majeed and ward councillor Derek Wilson.

Resident Betty Orme, head of care Raimat Oluyole and home manager Shelley Ackland-Snow showed their guests around the unit.

Ms Ackland-Snow told the publication: "We are very lucky that we have such caring and supportive families we would again like to thank everyone very, very much for attending."

This comes after former Mayor Wendy Mitchell opened the redeveloped Gretton Court Nursing Home, reports the Hartlepool Mail.

The home was revamped, with new nursing care and recreational facilities being added.
