North Lincolnshire Tories announce support for care home

North Lincolnshire's Conservative leader has announced her support for a care home catering to those with long term care plans in the region.

An emergency budget was presented by the new Conservative administration of North Lincolnshire Council, reports the Scunthorpe Telegraph.

Included in the announcements was a £269,000 pledge to keep The Lilacs care home open. Furthermore, there is to be a second consultation on the future of the Scotter House home.

Conservative leader Liz Redfern told the publication: "With regard to the budget and our proposals, they are some of our priorities.

"I think they are priorities because we are being responsive and imaginative to what the electorate wishes us to carry out."

This follows comments from Kenny Daniels, GMB union branch secretary, who told that Cardiff council should revise its decision to close two of the city's non-private care homes - a problem for many in the region making long term care plans.
