Hoddeston care home to undergo extension

Posted on 30 March 2011

The Belmont View care home in Hoddesdon, Hertfordshire will begin a £2.5 extension next month to provide more space for residents paying for long term care.

Currently, the facility is home to 60 residents, and the extension is hoped to make room for another 25, the Hertfordshire Mercury reports.

Quantum Care, which manages Belmont View, said the design and construction work has been carefully planned to ensure that the residents are disturbed as little as possible by it.

A meeting will be held this week to explain the project to residents, staff and relatives of people paying for long term care at the home, which contains a special unit for people with dementia.

Meanwhile, the Eastern Daily Press reported this week that Age UK Norfolk is launching a new project that hopes to change the way advice, support and care is delivered to older people in the Norfolk area.
