Care home canine gets fifteen minutes of fame

Residents paying for care at a Bromsgrove facility are now living with a celebrity dog.

Skip was adopted by Bluebrooke Care Home after being rescued by the Blue Cross to be a companion to those with long term care plans, reports the Bromsgrove Standard.

The canine proved a huge hit and has subsequently been featured in the August Edition of Dogs Monthly.

Deputy care manager Tracy Burford told the newspaper that Skip's contribution to the care home has been "brilliant".

"He has a special place in the hearts of all the residents and staff here and we would definitely recommend having a pet to other homes in the area," she said.

This follows news that tabby cat Simba, who belongs to Oaklands care home in south Norfolk, has gone missing, worrying those paying for care at the facility.
