Bupa care 'excellent', residents say

Posted on 20 April 2011

Almost three-quarters of people paying for care in Bupa care homes has rated the service they receive as "excellent" or "very good" in a survey.

Results from the independent poll of residents paying for long term care and their relatives reveal that overall customer satisfaction has risen for the eighth year in a row.

Additionally, 94 per cent of Bupa residents said that the quality of nursing care and other care was excellent or very good, 91 per cent also gave this rating for being treated as individuals and having their needs understood.

Oliver Thomas, director of Bupa's UK Care Homes, said: "Residents and their families are in the best position to judge our care and I am delighted to see such a positive response from them.

"This is a tribute to all our committed care home staff and the excellent care that they provide. Their efforts are clearly being acknowledged by residents."

Meanwhile, the Quality Care Commission gave 13 care homes in the Chichester, Midhurst and Bognor Regis areas an excellent service rating, reports the Bognor Regis Observer, no doubt making them attractive propositions for people choosing a care home.
