PayingForCare is a national information and advice service helping older people (their families, friends and carers) to make informed choices when faced with having to pay the costs of their own care.

The service is impartial, not-for-profit and free to use.

Our website provides information, videos, news, views and everything else to do with funding care, including access to financial advice from independent specialist care fees advisers.

We work closely with care charities, providers, local authorities and government departments, support organisations and other experts in the care sector to address this complex subject.

Age Action Alliance

The Age Action Alliance is a partnership of organisations from civil society and the public and private sectors, which celebrates the lives of older people and their contribution to society. We work together and use our diverse skills to particularly improve the lives of the most disadvantaged older people and prevent deprivation in later life.

 

 

Age UK Gloucestershire

Age UK Gloucestershire is the largest independent organisation in the county working with and for older people. We work to improve independence and quality of life for the older people of Gloucestershire, to raise awareness of older people’s issues and to challenge attitudes and practices that discriminate against older people. Dementia Action Alliance

Dementia Action Alliance is made up of over 100 organisations committed to transforming the quality of life of people living with dementia in the UK and the millions of people who care for them.

 

Dementia UK

Dementia UK is a national charity that works to improve the quality of life for all people affected by dementia. We work in the following ways:

  • Admiral Nurses – specialist mental health nurses who work within the National Health Service and other settings to support families affected by dementia. Admiral Nurses also deliver immediate support to families as well as health and social care professionals through our dedicated national helpline, Admiral Nursing DIRECT.
  • Uniting Carers – a national network of carers who share their experiences and contribute to research, training and awareness-raising in order to help others.
  • Dementia UK Training – providing high quality, affordable, accredited training for those who work with people with dementia in order to improve standards of health and social care.

The English Community Care Association

First Stop Advice brings together the skills of some of the UK's most respected organisations working in partnership for the benefit of older people.


 

Gransnet

Gransnet is the social networking site for Britain's 14m grandparents. Launched in May 2011, it received 500,000 page views in its first month and has been growing ever since; it was hailed by The Telegraph as 'a new dawn in grey  power.' Discussions range from relationships to politics, daughters-in-law to dignity in care. Live webchat guests have included Paul Burstow, Rachel Reeves and Vince Cable. Gransnet will be launching 80 local sites in the next year.

 

 

Independent Age

Independent Age provides information and advice on care and support services for older people, their families and carers across the UK. This is integrated with local support from a network of 1,500 volunteers who provide practical help and befriending schemes. SIFA

SIFA's aims include assisting solicitors and specialist financial advisers to work together to support clients by providing complementary later life financial advice.

 

SCIE

The Social Care Institute for Excellence (SCIE) improves the lives of people who use care services, and their family carers, by sharing knowledge about what works. We are an independent charity working with adults, families and children's social care and social work services across the UK. We also work closely with related services such as health and housing.

We gather and analyse knowledge about what works and translate that knowledge into practical resources, learning materials and services including training and consultancy. Our work helps to improve the knowledge and skills of those working in care services. This includes managers, frontline staff, commissioners and trainers. Society of Later Life Advisers

SOLLA is a not for profit organisation, established to meet the need of consumers, advisers and those who provide financial products and services to the Later Life market. Its aim is to ensure that consumers are better informed about the financial issues of later life and can find an Independent Financial Adviser who holds the Later Life Adviser Accreditation.

 

SECHA

The South Essex Care & Health Association (SECHA) is a not for profit organisation which promotes first class care for the people who are cared for by our members. These are residential or nursing care home providers and others who provide professional care services within Essex. We work in partnership with Local Authorities and other statutory bodies and keep members informed of initiatives relevant to the care sector. We promote staff development by providing training programmes. We are a CRB registered Umbrella body. We run an interactive web based bed vacancy register which is updated at least weekly.

 

Surrey Care Association

Surrey Care Association Ltd is a non-membership, not-for-profit organisation representing all providers (private, voluntary and charitable) from all sectors (care homes, domiciliary care and supported living) based in the county of Surrey.
