Hartlepool to get new nursing home?
A new nursing home which could be built in Hartlepool could see more people choosing a care home considering one in the area.
Hartlepool Borough Council is to visit the potential site for the Yuill Homes facility to help decide whether to grant the venture permission, reports the Peterlee Mail.
Concerns have been raised about problems finding a safe place to cross the road near the proposed site as well as the lack of pavement either side.
Labour councillor Pamela Hargreaves told the newspaper: "It is not acceptable that we have to ask people to cross over a stretch of road to walk along the path."
This follows the unveiling of plans for a potential care facility in Bournemouth, which would expand the options for those making long term care plans in the area if it went ahead.
The Bournemouth Echo reports that Troika Development have applied for an Environmental Impact Assessment from the council.
