Gardeners support elderly care charity

A fundraising event in Scotland will help to bring in cash for people who may be choosing a care home, while gardeners will get some tips from green-fingered experts.

The Gardener's Forum will take place at Camphill School Aberdeen, will benefit Simeon Care for the Elderly, which provides support for older people.

Jim McColl, presenter of Tern Television's Beechgrove Garden, will be on hand alongside Colin Stirling of the Pitcaple Project and head gardener at Crathes Castle Chris Wardle to answer guests' questions about getting the most out of their gardens.

"This will be the first of a series of fundraising events for Simeon Care for the Elderly as we look to develop our care and support for older people," said Jeannie Carlson, manager of group.

Recently, Grantham Today reported that the Community Care for the Elderly charity in Grantham will be forced to close at the end of March after failing to secure new funding.
