People paying for care at a Crowthorne facility enjoyed a Flamenco party to raise some money for a sensory garden.

The care home's annual garden party was this year given a Spanish twist, reports GetBracknell, with colourful matadors and flamenco dancers entertaining residents.

In addition, a raffle, tombola and guess the weight of the cake stall all played a part in raising £500 at the event.

Waitrose Community Matters scheme has also donated £700 for the sensory hearing garden, which is to focus on hearing, sight and touch.

Lynne Cotterell, manager of Pinehurst Care Centre care home in Dukes Ride, told the publication: "Our garden party has been going for about 15 years and every year we have a different theme. The Spanish theme was a suggestion from a member of staff. We haven't done Spanish before."

Meanwhile, residents paying for care at Larchfield care home in Maidenhead raised £800 for their facility at a summer fete, reports the Maidenhead Advertiser.
