Film made for dementia patients
A charity has received substantial funding in order to produce a film designed to help older people with dementia, who are likely to have long term care plans.
The East Midlands Lottery's Awards for All scheme awarded First Taste £10,000 to produce the "Where'ere You Walk" film, reports Bakewell Today.
Care homes and day centres will use the DVD to soothe and stimulate older people with dementia and to assist staff training.
To be filmed over the four different seasons, it will be set in renowned locations and beauty spots across Derbyshire and former Blue Peter presenter Simon Groom will provide commentary, including famous prose and poetry.
In other news, residents paying for care at a care home in Lambeth put on a performance for Dying Matters Awareness Week.
