Chard care home holds open day, raises money for Alzheimer's
Oak Lodge Care Home in Chard, which houses those paying for care, held an open day for other members of the community earlier in the month.
The open day was held in aid of the Alzheimer's Society, and £250 was raised for the cause, reports thisisthewestcountry.co.uk.
Mayor of Chard Jill Shortland put in an appearance at the event, taking place on May 10th, which highlighted recent work done on some of the rooms.
Julie Emmett, business development manager of Oak Lodge, said: "We have had an extensive refurbishment of the communal rooms and to celebrate that we have invited members of the community to visit, as well as the Alzheimers Society and have been doing some fundraising for them as well."
In other news, people paying for care in Knutsford may choose a place in a 41-bed care home that could be built if plans get the go ahead, reports the Knutsford Guardian.
