Care home resident relives hobby on 96th birthday
A resident paying for care in Banbury with a passion for motorbikes received a most unusual present for her birthday.
Elsie Price, who lives at the Glebefield Care Home in Drayton, often spoke of how she used to travel around Banburyshire with her husband on a motorbike and had said she would never be able to get on one again, reports the Banbury Guardian.
To celebrate her 96th birthday, care home staff arranged for a bike to be brought up to the care home by South Newington company I Love Bikes before having a party with Elsie's friends and family.
Social care manager Joyce Furey told the publication: "She did not know what was happening when everyone was asked to come outside so all the residents loved seeing the look on her face when the bike appeared."
This follows news that Inchmarlo Care Home and Retirement Community has celebrated 25 years since its opening.
