Bradford on Avon to get new care home
An old hospital site in Bradford on Avon is to be used for the construction of a 63 bed nursing home, giving people in the Wiltshire area more choice when it comes to finding a care home.
The hospital closed in 2005, and two subsequent health care facility plans from developers on the site have failed, reports the Wiltshire Times.
Plans also include 14 units of sheltered accommodation on the Berryfield House Regeneration Ltd site.
Tony Cole, business development director at developers Castlemead Care, told the newspaper: "Castlemead is in negotiations with an operator to run the home. It's going to be probably two floors of nursing for people with dementia, and one floor of general frail and elderly nursing care."
People in Hull will also not be short of care home options, after an £83 million Department of Health grant to go towards three housing developments for older and vulnerable people was announced, reports the East Riding Mail.
