Bournemouth care home plans unveiled
People choosing a care home in the Bournemouth area will have more options if plans for new 60-bed facility go ahead.
Plans for the care home have been unveiled by Troika Development, who have applied for an Environmental Impact Assessment from Bournemouth Council, reports the Bournemouth Echo.
The site would facilitate a nursing home of up to three storeys, a three-storey health care and nursing facility as well as up to 160 homes with associated landscaping, access for vehicles and car parking.
However, ward councillor Nick King told the newspaper: "If Troika is planning to propose access to the site through Riverside Avenue or Castle Lane East this could lead to increased traffic problems in the area."
This comes after news of the transformation of a former Theatre Royal into a care home, widening the choices of people paying for care in the Barry area.
The Barry & District News reports that the £7 million project has been approved by members of the Vale Council's planning committee.
