Bourne care home residents enjoy summer fete
Posted on 16 September 2011
People paying for care at a Bourne facility enjoyed the last sun of the summer by putting on a fete last Saturday (September 10th).
Bournelocal.co.uk reports that residents and visitors to Digby Court Care Home wandered around stalls selling treats including jams, cakes, books and bric-a-brac.
A tombola, bottle tombola, guess the number of sweets in the jar and treasure island game were also held for residents.
The £950 raised was put in a fund towards activities for the residents.
Activities coordinator Maria Fryer told the newspaper: "It was a good afternoon and we had lots of visitors, particularly due to the good weather.
"We would like to thank the mayor and all the visitors who came from Bourne for their support."
This follows a plethora of summer fetes held by care homes round the UK this year.
